Mr. Danish Azar Zuby is the senior most qualified Interior Designer of the country. He was born in Lahore in October, 1950. He is the son of a renowned sculpture/ painter, late Mr. Ozzir Zuby. He received his early education in Karachi while He did his Bachelors from Habib Institute of Technology, Nawabshah and proceeded to Bahrain to set up a design firm with Arab partnership. Then he traveled to England to pursue design education.

On his return from England, in 1980, he worked on the Karachi Sheraton Hotel project before joining ASA, a leading architectural firm. Mr. Zuby was head of ASA’s interior design department until 1989, at which time he founded his own practice in Karachi. His firm has grown to become one of the most sought after design studios in the region. He has to his credit more than 250 successfully completed projects in Pakistan, with an amazing variety, ranging from five star hotels & restaurants, airport, shops & boutiques, offices & residences etc.

He designed DAZ House in 1994, in which he lives in Karachi. This was nominated for Aga Khans Award for Excellence in Architecture for 2001. The house has been widely published in the national press. He has also designed many houses in Pakistan.

He is the Founder Member of “Pakistan Institute of Interior Designers”, “SHEHRI, Citizen for Better Environment” and “Illumination Society of Pakistan” and has also served as an Executive Committee Member of “Indus Valley School of Art & Architecture”. He was responsible for the establishment of Department of Interior Design at the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture in Karachi, which is the first of its kind in the country; and remained its departmental head till 2007.

His projects have been published in “100 Designers Favorite Rooms” & “Great Designers of the World”, in the USA. He has been listed in “Who’s Who of the world” & “Who’s Who in Interior Design”, books printed in USA. He has participated in seminars, presenting papers on design. He is regular contributor to the national press on various issues especially on Design.
